Could also be that your food went bad from carrying it around without refrigeration. Thailand is very hot and humid, and she wasnt always able to get her food heated hot to kill off the germs. Cooked leftovers really dont last long in that kind of environment for longer than 3 hours, hence why Leftover Rice/Pasta Syndrome became such a thing.
