Food Vision 2030: Mission One

Показать описание
Having a climate smart and environmentally sustainable agri-food sector is vital for the next decade.
The first mission in our #FoodVision2030 strategy calls for a reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases and nutrient losses to water
It also promotes more areas dedicated to biodiversity on land and sea
and it aims to increase levels of forestry and organic farming while halving our food waste
7 goals and 61 actions are proposed to achieve this
The 1st Goal is to develop a climate neutral agri-food system so that by 2050, the climate impact of methane is reduced to zero
and remaining agricultural emissions are balanced by removals;
and improve air quality
The 2nd goal is to restore and enhance biodiversity
The 3rd Goal is to protect high status sites and contribute to the protection and restoration of good water quality and healthy aquatic ecosystems
The 4th Goal is to devlop diverse, multi-functional forests
The 5th Goal is to enhance the environmental sustainability of the seafood sector
The 6th Goal is to embed the agri-food sector in the circular, regenerative bioeconomy
The 7th Goal is to strengthen and invest in Origin Green and other sustainability supports to make the agri-food sector reach its potential
All these Goals are accompanied by a series of targets with verifiable progress by 2030
We must protect the environment and mitigate climate change
while also producing the high quality food we are globally renowned for
It is down to all of us to play our part in this and hand over a well-protected environment to future generations
