Multitrack recording with Waves Tracks Live - Campus specific demo
Показать описание
This brief video is just a simple screen recording of the steps to take to record multitrack at our Northeast and High Point locations. They use the same sound board and similar recording computers so things should look pretty much the same.
Use the template to setup your sessions. The template already has the input list which aligns to the inputs on our sound board, and they have been named according to the way our editors and audio mixers prefer.
If you are from outside of Mercy Hill and found your way to our video, I'd like to welcome you. Please feel free to comment if you have questions. We use Allen&Heath sound consoles at each of our campus locations, and the one referenced in this video is the SQ5 at our NE campus and the SQ6 at our HP campus. The computers running the Tracks Live application are basic Mac mini systems, one is quite new and the other is quite old, but both are capable of easily running the multitrack recording. We have these directly connected via USB and routing has been setup to only pass audio from the sound console to the computer during recording sessions, with a completely different routing scheme for virtual sound check (VSC) options. VSC allows for us to practice mixing without the band, and our sound engineers can have the most recent recordings for those practice sessions. All of this is through the simple USB connection on the console. I'll try to create some training content for the VSC process.
The purpose of the multitrack recordings is primarily for training and quality control. Other systems may have greater benefits, but we like to keep things simple. If you have other recommendations for this setup or how we might use it more, please comment.
Thanks!
