Quick Moen Faucet Single Handle Faucet Repair

preview_player
Показать описание
There seems to be a trend of Moen faucets coming from the factory with a loose cartridge nut resulting in a leak around the handle when it works its way loose. This easy fix only requires a 3/32 allen wrench and crescent wrench. This also shows handle disassembly in case cartridge replacement is necessary.

Quick fix you say? As usual, I started in without a clue. I had seen some videos that mentioned an allen wrench fitting, so I went looking for one. Course you can't see a $%^& thing while the faucet is bolted down to the sink. I luckily found the allen wrench insert and got even luckier finding the right size allen wrench. I managed to get it disassembled but wasn't any closer to solving the leak not to mention trying to put the thing back together. Then I decided it was time for youtube and I found your video. Thank you Thank you Thank you so much! I was just about to go buy a new faucet at $300. I managed to get it back together and it looks and works like brand new. Yes, it is a very quick fix knowing what I know now. Experience is a great teacher. So are youtube videos !

The cap on mine pulls away from the faucet when using the handle. It shows the white ring. What would you think my issue is?

The set screw requires a 3/32" Allen wrench, not 1/32".

Hi, thanks for the video. Do you the model of the faucet. The white plastic ring on my moen faucet needs to be replaced as the handle wont fit on it properly. Thanks

Thanks for this. I removed the Allen screw entirely but the handle nor the cover will come off. I feel I’ll break it if I try too hard. Any tips?

Will that also stop the faucet itself from dripping. My handle is very loose. Maybe need to change cartridge as well?

Mine is not leaking but seems to get hard to turn to hot water then down to cold

My cover does not pop off easily. I'd prefer you show how you removed yours...some say fingernail others screwdriver. Then again, my faucet just might be a piece of garbage and it won't come off without much force.

i used Moen before and it was not good. It broke after 2 years. I know it is lifetime warranty but you waste your time to fix it. Now, i only use germany brand and it can last up to 10 years
