This looks so good and makes me sad with what we got. The prealpha and alpha 1 was the peak of hello neighbor. This brings us back to those days. It’s much more polished and dark. The whole dream car death was pretty silly but this was great.

Freaking finally. This is what I wanted. This is the hello neighbor I dreamed of, no puzzles, no parkour, just grab a key or a hammer, unlock some doors, run and hide. Then the basement. That was a stress inducing nightmare. Good job. That is what it should have been. Not some neighbor boss battle that we got. This project turned out so well. The only issues I have are that it isn't entirely clear on first playthrough which keys and which hammers go where, I would recommend coloring them or making them different items. I liked the mid chapter sequences; however the neighbor's voice threw me off a little bit, along with the lack of lip syncing (which I get is difficult) but I would recommend changing up the voice a little bit, it's not too intimidating as it is and kind of takes you out of it when you eventually get to the segments. I would also say that the lack of shadow animations/the items floating when you hold them is a bit distracting but it's not too bad. The neighbor is easily avoidable by luring him outside and just never getting into his view. I would recommend after a little bit of him standing outside from him to go back inside. I like that he only notices you when your IN his sightline (compared to the real game where it's whatever they want his sightline to be) but I think him getting stuck outside is a very game breaking glitch. Some animations during cutscenes need to be fixed up a small bit, and my last issue is the audio. I love the music and sound effects but sometimes the neighbor's music will stop and start and sometimes sound effects will completely cut out the noises of rain and such. But honestly that's all the critique I have, the basement is interesting the story is intriguing, the house isn't a huge maze to get lost in. This game is fantastic, and I love the use of alpha 2, prototype, and pre-alpha (with hints of alpha 1) I do not know how I feel about the car crash twist but it's not a bad one either. You actually did exactly what I would have done and made the house smaller with every chapter instead of larger like the full game did. But back to the car crash twist, I would recommend adding elements of him keeping someone in the basement, because it's a small contradiction that it's a dream but the neighbor also fights (what seems to be) a child and locking them up. I would have loved to see more children's items in the basement or if we got to a door and you hear crying on the other side and right when you open it the neighbor gets you AND THEN you have us wake up. Maybe the neighbor is lying about the car crash? This is a very solid game and I think it outdoes the original in every stretch of imagination. Bugs and all. I am making a hello neighbor retrospective and I am 100% going to mention this game and how it is the perfect alternative. Sorry for the paragraph, but I just think if these few bugs got fixed this would be a flawless game! But it's up to you if you even want to change it) Before I finish this off might I say the choice to make it dark and raining in the second chapter was amazing, it took what alpha 3 did and made it actually good! 9.5/10 the bugs are the only thing holding it from a 10. I cannot wait to see your future games! (also might I add the game looks stunning no more of that overly cartoony art style)

i just downloaded this and i was stun in amazement like wow, the fact you put the animations and the sound effects from trailers and even the full game. this literally show What Hello Neighbor supposed to be like, Great Project!
