Judge blocks Biden immigration program that would grant legal status to spouses of U.S. citizens

A federal judge has temporarily blocked a landmark effort from the Biden administration to offer half a million immigrants a path to U.S. citizenship. CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes has more.

So I went through the process with my wife leagally - paying thousands of dollars, studying to put together all the packets of documents the right way and waiting nearly 2 years and doing interviews...for nothing? Naw, my wife and I earned her right to be here legally and put her nursing skills to work during Covid. Maybe make the paperwork easier and lower cost but no way there should be a free pass

I married an American and it will not made me an American. I had to check with immigration every two years. I was asked questions about supporting the USA, do I denied socialist and communist ideology. I became a US citizenship took the test pay the dues and passed. Allowing people to get citizenship because they married an American will create a big business for those that only want citizenship.🤷🏽‍♀️

My wife gained legal resident status several years ago. She is on the legal path to citizenship. It is slow and costing us thousands. I'm against the fees, but the legal route should be the ONLY route. If we can do it, so can everyone else.

This is very misleading.... As a naturized citizen of this great nation, please allow me to explain ... If you are married to a US citizen, you apply for a green-card ( that makes you a legal US resident). After 5 years you can apply for your citizenship....

My husband was a New Zealander living in Australia when we met and decided to get married. I looked into moving to Australia, and it was a six-month quarantine for my dog that I loved and wasn't going to leave behind, so based on that maybe silly reason, he decided to come here to the states instead. That was in 2009. He worked really hard and got his citizenship last year. It is kind of shocking that many people won't get the same opportunity....why?
