Just now i opened my laptop lock by watching this video. I purchased this lock from Nehru Palace, New Delhi in 2009. And i forgot the combination for last 8-9 years .

After a little bit of thinking about it, this worked with a Kensington combination lock that looks very similar to the one in the video. I found turning one way didn't really identify the gates, but they were quite obvious when rotating the numbers the other way. Found the gap of numbers four apart and it all clicked into place.

Thx! This method works to unlock Defcon CL with round windows and blue plastic. 🎉 Follow the steps explained in this video. Start with the most right wheel. There are 1 real gate and 2 false gates on each wheel/window. All 3 gates of a wheel create retention on the wheel left to it. Write down these numbers when you feel the retention. The real gate is +- 3 of false gate.

As a hobby, I try to learn to pick different locks for fun. I'm quite good at certain locks, but for the 1st time I actually need to pick 1 like this (cheap no name) and the gates feel all over the place. I'll keep at it, but I may end up cutting it apart. Locked to a laptop currently.

I was following along with this video, until I a) used plyers to shove down the button too hard and then b) tapped it with a hammer. Popped right out. Lock was destroyed, laptop is 100% fine.

You can actually apply force to open it by twisting the combination dial.

Hi there, thanks so much for this awesome Video. I ve set up a new code for the lock and trying to fix it with my notebook now. Question: as soon as the lock clicks into the laptop, i can no longer change the numbers so that the lock is locked
