Its a shame his goodbye with Piccolo didn't last more than a minute. It felt way too quick. I would argue Piccolo is way more integral to Goku's life than Krillin ever was. Pushing him to become stronger in DB and going as far to train his son in DBZ and also served as one of the few main characters outside the saiyan bloodline to be a formidable fighter.

This scene has so much more meaning if you grew up watching Dragonball first. I know a lot of fans of DBZ never watched the original Dragonball but It makes Piccolos character so much better overall.
