Hi StreetMic,
You asked why it's not Caribbean groups that lead the carnival parade. The samba groups always start early because they have to complete the carnival route in two and a half / three hours. The samba style of drumming and dance is so fast and tiring, that a longer parade is extremely tough. Later on, as the carnival route fills up with trucks, the 'carnival traffic' goes much more slowly and the parade can take 6-7 hours. That's murder for samba players and dancers!

this is fantastic to follow nothing hill carnaval;i want to come for many years but always there was something come in between, i went to Villapark(big Villa fan), Wembley(big England fan)came to London to buy reggae&dub lp, s, but never went to nothing hill carnaval!i know that, s shamefull, but next year i, m there!promise! it, s something i must do before i die!greetings from a retired pipewelder from Antwerp, Belgium;BIG UP and shake that bambam!!!🥰

Love the stream. No way am paying 18 pounds for one chicken and rice. When I use to go carnival granny would cook up rice and peas with fried chicken and carry it in a container miss those days. 🇹🇹

Thank you for your coverage of the event. Never watched carnival online before. Unfortunately you had some unsavoury comments during the live stream yesterday not sure about today. Im all for freedom of speech but some of the comments were boderline racist and i dont use that word lightly. In fact i rarely use that word. Its either that or they were just trolling.
