USA TODAY asked teens at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. about diversity and how it affects their lives and generation.

I grew up with diversity so I prefer it but people who didn't shouldnt be forced, it should just happen naturally

Diversity of race, culture, ethnicity, gender and etc. is great and all but one thing I didn't really hear was diversity of thought and opinions. having a different point of view is similar but doesn't always mean their thought or opinion on something is different. I have many close friends who don't always have the same opinion about a topic as me and sometimes being challenged on your thoughts can help you create a stronger argument or even persuade you to change your mind.

Diversity means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. Why would I want everyone to be the same? How dull.
