Cuco - Lover Is A Day | Audiotree Live

Показать описание

Cuco is a Chicano singer and multi-instrumentalist who obsesses over cheesy love songs from a generation long gone. He swirls together oldies and early 2000's Chicano Rap with modern trap and psych to create a sultry, smooth sound. Bolstered by walloping west coast rhythms and wavy keyboard lines, Cuco and his band craft romantic ballads that are familiar but fresh and elastic enough to fit almost any setting. Check out the performance by Cuco on Audiotree Live.

Recorded on January 17, 2018 in Chicago, IL.

The most fascinating thing to me here is that he isn't a great singer, which is okay, not every musician has to be. But as someone mentioned, he's so proficient in mastering and mixing that he made his voice sound incredible, which is talent in and of itself. Being a multi-instrumentalist is also absolutely crazy, and Cuco knows his craft. Even if he hasn't got the greatest pipes, Cuco is destined for great things, no doubt.

I love how people keep saying, “he sounds nothing like the studio version.” It was because he was sick here.

Me da gusto por el cuco, tiene mucho talento. Si se hubiera quedado en latinoamerica probablemente hubiera cantado reggaeton.

I do like Cuco as a musician overall and enjoy his art a lot. But as a GUITARIST... holy shit if he made a guitar instrumental album I would be very happy

It sounds like oldies slow jams live like this.

Every one in the room is sooo talented! And let's appreciate that Liano drummer who can show sick drumming skill in a particularly soft song. He also has an album on his own that is very enjoyable.

I actually like this version more than the studio one, it’s more raw and in my opinion it just sounds cooler

yeah singing is a gift not everyone has but writing amazing songs like these takes more than talent and practice. not everyone can express their emotions through lyrics and rhymes.

I have to agree with other dudes saying that he sounds different for the studi version, but he's trying his best and it's great, you just really need to appreciate cuco.
