A quick day trip TOUR to EXPLORE Vlorë Albania, 1 10 2021

My months stay at my AirBNB was about to expire in a few days. I was scouting a new place to stay and vlog. So I took a quick day trip tour to the city of Vlorë Albania. I got on a mini bus and headed south from Durres city. The entire week looked like rain, so I figured it was a good time to visit. I was going to go to Bali but Covid restrictions had me too worried about buying a ticket to fly there, I was concerned about having another cancelled flight.

So I got on a bus and headed south for two hours. What did I see and experience there? Will it be a place I am considering staying at for a while? What is the current vibe in this place? Watch the video and find out

Hey Vern, nice video. U are right, u should visit italy because if u ever go back to asia i dont think u will go back to europe again. When i was in the air force i was stationed in iraklion crete, Greece. My family told me to travel as much as i could because i will never get the chance to go back there again. Im happy that you are traveling as much as u can and learning so much. The experience u are having is worth more than any amount of money that u can have. Durres may have hard times after earthquake, but I still think Vlore looks a little better.
Another option Vern , go more South, into Greece capital Athens, lots to see and do, you like your history, it has lots, weather a little + plus beautiful Greek ladies ... and more English spoken. (That would be my option) ..

Vlora and Vlore are both in albanian language and are used in different situations. Where are you from? I'm from Vlora. And where are you going? I'm going to Vlore. Same thing for Tirana and most of the words in albanian. Albanian language can be very tricky 😜

Up the hill is the KUZ BABA, Bektashi sect cult object. During communism it was repurposed as a park with a restaurant/café place, very popular at the time with visitors from all over Albania. Now it has been returned to the Bektashi KRYEGJYSHATE (chief grandfathership). There is a good restaurant up there too, I am not sure if it is all new or part of the old establishment from communism. The views of Vlora are magnificent from there. Back in the old days the only access was via very tiresome long stairs, but now you can drive from the back of the hill.

Nice walk tour of Vlore but I would head straight for Italy and stay there for a month or more before any other Asian country opens up. Too much more to do and see in Italy!

When it is “VLORA” it means like
“the vlore” ( the Vlore’s terminal)
But in Albanian language there’s no “the”
For example:I going to city of Vlora, the city of vlora, something has happened in Vlore,
When it happened??? In city of vlora,
That’s because our language is the most difficult to learn also the oldest in Europe

hahaha not really, no. Albanians old and young are all about politics. No small talk, just politics from the local to the UN and EU and Washington.
