Just got back from Auvers sur oise and was so IMPRESSED with how much help I received from not only the workers at the stations (esp. Monceau and Denfert) in getting the ticket $10 round trip! Especially appreciated the SNCF who helped me with going back to Paris, as well as running off the sketchy guys hanging out at the train station at Auvers. Wish there had been someone inside, but this guy was so sweet! Whoever said the French are rude or cold didn’t see what I did today. I was so grateful to all the lovely French folks who helped me have a wonderful day! Would have been much more difficult without these godsends!

My wife and I opted to visit Versailles but paid only to go into the gardens and it was the best decision we ever made as tourists: no line, no pushing or crowds. Just lovely gardens and sculptures in what felt like unending twists and turns on a beautiful day.

Thanks for including Chartres. The intense blue of the stain glass in the cathedral takes your breath away!

Bruges and Ghent in Belgium are each about 2:30 train rides from Paris and both are worth visiting.

Saw this meme on IG. "Travel 2 hours from Paris and you're in London. Travel 2 hours from NYC (where i live) and you're in Scranton" 🤣😂

Caen/Bayeux was fantastic.
The tapestry is breathtaking in-person.

After 2 day trips to Lille in 2022, I made the decision to invest in a studio apartment there and now spend 90 days at a time, with a trip to Paris every weekend. I often get my tickets for much less than 120 euros round trip; I’ve gone for as little as 32 round trip.

Another great video. I can hardly wait to move to France and explore by motorhome.

So glad you put this together. I’ve done the day trip to Reims and it is the perfect getaway from Paris. Tours is where I lived one summer while studying and we loved our weekend trips to Paris. It’s also in chateau country.

I wouldn’t necessarily think of Mont Saint Michel or London as a day trip. London could be its own hub city from where you could take day trips. When we went to Mont St Michel we made it an overnight which I think is a lot more doable.

We love Strasberg the last trip. Wonderful church with clock. Thanks for including it.

A fantastic video, as always. Thank you for including Chartres. My wife and I will be visiting the cathedral. We can’t wait.

I would not consider many of these to be day trips - London, Brussels, Mount Ste. Michelle, Bordeaux, Lyon. These are worthy of their own trip but not from from Paris. I suppose if one were desperate to visit any of these, it might be OK, but I sure wouldn't do it. I would have even moved these to the end of the video with a note that they are best explored on their own. A few others such as the Loire, Strasbourg, Normandy also fall into this category as one day does not do them justice. But thanks nonetheless for putting this together your videos and trip hints are great.

I appreciate you both so much! I'll be visiting Paris for the second time next March. Your recommendations (such as Hôtel Des Marronniers) are really helping me with the planning!
