Sen. Ted Cruz apologizes for traveling to Cancun during Texas freeze

Senator Ted Cruz is apologizing for leaving frozen Texas behind with his family to visit a luxury resort in sunny, warm Mexico. What was nearly obvious to everyone is now obvious to him.

This wasn't an apology. Apologies involve acknowledgement of the impact you had on others. You have to apologize TO someone. Saying, "it was a mistake" doesn't get to the why. Why was it a mistake, Ted? Did you simply pick the wrong location to flee to? Blaming your kids is shameful.

Ok so i thought the trip was planned well in advance, which would have made more sense, since if that was the case the winter storm descending upon Texas 2 days prior to the trip would have come off as a surprise. But this is worse, this is him and his family just escaping the cold, while his constituents freeze. Pretty uncaring behavior. Some people face the fire, some people are fighting in the front lines. Then there are people like Ted who does the opposite.
