excellent video. this is the first time I have been able to complete mitres and not be apologising for the untidiness. Very easy to follow by stopping and starting the video at each stage. I haven't seen one of the mitre tools before in N.Ireland and as I wanted to complete my project 'right now' I made myself one by using the guides on my cutting mat and a ruler out of ikea drawer lining rubber!! Be nice to have the proper one but I followed the video and all went to plan. many thanks.

Would this still work if you stitched the binding to the back of the quilt and proceeded from there instead of using the backing fabric to create the binding?

Is the binding one layer thick? Traditional binding is two layers thick.
