I see this as a great hive for retirement, but then at the same time, you’re using it for honey production and doing well. So now I see it the best of both worlds I suppose I like innovation and tailoring beekeeping to fit our needs. Going to be watching how this does among beekeepers nationwide. Very interesting. Moving frames is so much easier than lifting boxes….

Can you put a queen excluder on the bottom box to keep the queen from laying in the top boxes?

How are do you slide the frames in the brood box forward thats under the nuc box to remove them if they are stuck together and to the frame rest with gobs of propolis?

Hi George. I'm a rookie, so this may be a rookie question. In your honey production video, you mention fall honey in the spacer box. Is it the weekly or bi-weekly moving up of the brood frames that keeps the queen from laying in the spacer box? Or is there an excluder before the spacer box?
