One of the coolest things about the stutter rip is that it effectively works as a pivot eraser (shoutout to Evan Fournier and Micah Lancaster for pointing it out) because it's such a difficult move to officiate.

Note: yes, this move is sometime known as a rocker step. I don’t mind either usage but I’ve heard pro skills trainers and higher end basketball evaluators use “stutter rip” or “shimmy jab” lately with this move so it’s what I’m going with.
