As far as software support, this thing started of with Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, it did go up to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop which I remember was a big upgrade coming from the previous versions. However the only problem today is that even Android 5.0.1 was so many years ago and now you will probably have lots of problems being able to find apps that work on it.

Recently starting using it again as my major device when out walking or working. Android 12 with Custom rom and all apps work great. The amoled screen is still magnificent and it fits in every pocket. Head phone is a great plus, spare battery just in case on me. Really, a revelation after 5 years of 6+ inch big stuff. Exactly what I needed.

At home evenings I use a 2023 Samsung or laptop for financial stuff.

I know that this has only been done getting software updates since 2015 which don't seem long ago. Although Anroid 5.0.1 Lollipop was a pretty big software update coming from KitKat at that time from what I remember in 2015.

I think 2013 phones are too old to use in 2024. Maybe the oldest that you would want to use in 2024 is maybe a phone from 2021, probably even 2020 or even 2019 Samsung phones could still be acceptable to use today, even if they no longer have the latest version of Android, but probably any older than 2019, you probably wouldn't want to use today. Maybe the S10 at the bare minimum, but probably the S21 or newer is recommended.

Bro i still use that for fnf mods and minecraft and its always around 30-60fps its playable

Also funny because he says that from a performance perspective, it also doesn't make any sense to buy this phone, because you can't really do that much and that it's so slow. That's funny these videos that where the reviews of how these phones hold up today sound very disappointing.

I still have my Samsung Galaxy S4 I just use it as a music player the audio is really good

Well, clearly, the S24 is certainly worth buying and will be supported for a long time. The S4 from 2013, probably only for nostalgic or for a collector's item purpose. At least the Galaxy S4 has Android 5.0 lollipop which was a good version but I guess the problem is that due to its age, you are probably going to have problems even being able to open the Play Store or browse the internet.
