Starlink - How to improve your wireless using a Mesh or an Extender

You have got Starlink and it has been working great for you. The wireless though does not quite reach to all the places you want, or you want to see if you can extend it to other buildings very close by.

A mesh could be a solution for you, but it will depend on the make up your walls and the distance you need the wireless to travel. Make an informed decision before purchasing - We hope this video will help.

This video will walk you through the basics of setting up your Starlink system, adding in the Starlink Ethernet Adapter and then configuring a Mesh network or Wireless Extender.

Strait to the point, glad there is someone that gives clarity to the setup of mesh with Starlink, and not loving the sound of their own voice.

Best explanation of setting up a mesh system via a Starlink ISP! Appreciated that there were variations of equipment brands.

Finally an explanation that makes sense. I’ve added security cameras around my property, it’s only a 140’x 50’ lot and a metal garage and a wooden garage. I’m still watching the video and the reviews at the end to decide on which ones I need. Your video is very clear and concise in setting up the equipment.

Thankyou so much for the video - I really struggled with other instructions I found, but this was so clear, and the explanations of what everything was doing helped me get my system up and running in no time. 1 metre thick stone walls are no longer the barrier they were to the wifi.

I appreciate your video. I’m not a techy person so I’m optimistic that you will read my comment sooner rather than later. I live in a RV Resort/Park in Arizona. The park has StarLink mounted on the roof of the clubhouse/office and it’s about 200 feet away from my travel trailer with a clear line of sight. I am receiving a minimum signal (sometimes no signal), and I would like to know the best way to boost the signal to receive a better WiFi connection. What do you recommend? What do we need to do?

Great video and very useful. One thing I discovered was the Granite on a wall (say behind a kitchen stove) will not let the Wi-Fi pass as granite is full of metal!

Great video. We’re building a new home and I’m trying to figure out how to wire our home. One clarification I’m looking for is, if you set up one mesh unit connected to Starlink and need additional units, are they connected via Ethernet or are they communicating with the mesh -‘new router’ wirelessly? Thanks in advance.

Hello! In my case i need to expand my internet range so i can cover up the entire house, I would be using a mesh system (tp link x20 or similar). being that said, do i need to set Starlink router to bypass mode? Can i set up the first deco far away from the starlink router ? So that i have the starlink router broadcasting in the kitchen, 1 deco on main room and the 2nd deco on 2nd floor? or the first deco needs to be right next to the starlink? Thanks and great video! :)

Fantastic video presentation - thank you. Have learnt so much in a short time. I have Starling & want to extend the router's network. Can I continue to use the original wireless router & then connect say two mesh devices to get additional reach a either end of my house (1 level but Starlink struggles to reach the ends) or do I need 3 additional devices - 1 to become new base unit & 2 satellites? Thanks again.

I am confused by something you are doing that I am not able to do. I have the X68 mesh, same model you have there. I set it up, created a new wifi network. All seems well, but at 32:00 you run a speed test but I am not able to run an "Advanced Speed Test" through the mesh wifi. Only when I am on the default Starlink wifi. I am not sure what I am missing here, but it looks like you are able to run an advanced test on the new mesh wifi. I am wrong? I can't this test to work through the Starlink app when on the mesh wifi. Not sure if there is something I am missing here? Thank you for the video, this helped me enormously on getting our network setup better!

Really helpful video! Just wanted to know if I leave the Starlink in router mode and turn the tp-link decos into AP mode, hardwire all the nodes then will everything work ok?

@The_Tech_Geeks
Such a useful video, thank you so much for making! We only have a couple of questions, might be a bit silly. We have the 1st version of Starlink (round plate):
1. Would it work with either Deco XE75 (cheaper) or Deco BE95 (wifi 7, expensive)? Would both do the job?
2. Does the first/main mesh device need to be right next to the Starlink router cause it connects with it via a cable or it can be anywhere cause it connects to Starlink router via wireless?

With deco, do you have to put starlink into bypass mode?

Literally, the one thing I needed to know was how do you hook up extra mesh boxes and he skipped right over it exclamation point I watched this whole video and he doesn’t say how the second or the third one will link to the first one! I’m so frustrated right nowI understand the first one gets LinkedIn via cable but what are you gotta do it once you start adding them?
