We teach you how to setup a nest temperature sensor with your Nest Thermostat. Nest Thermostat temperature sensors are compatible with both the Nest Thermostat Generation 3 and the Nest E Thermostat.

The Nest Thermostat Temperature Sensor allows you to detect the temperature in other rooms of you home and have your Nest Thermostat hold the temperature that is set on the Temperature sensor. I use my nest temperature sensor in the bedroom and it makes is easy to regulate the temperature I want in my bedroom before going to sleep. I have found this helps me sleep better and provide better control the temperature in my home.

Hi! I really enjoy your videos. I have been building a Smart Home for a few years and my latest project is attempting to sort of make a zone system with a Nest Thermostat/Sensor/inline duct fan/damper/probably some IFTT. Our HVAC / Heat Pump is in the attic of our 2 story home. The main floor runs much cooler in the winter as the main thermostat is upstairs. I don't want the nest sensor to the heat run until the downstairs is comfortable — then upstairs is an oven. I want the temp sensor to trigger a damper and inline fan to direct and boost airflow to the downstairs while the furnace runs to even out the whole house temperature. Do you have experience on that sort of setup?

Does this connect to damper or just cause it to pump air until that room gets to temp.  Basically asking if system will adjust dampers to ensure not every room is getting blasted with air or heat to get one particular room to temp?

So question : can I keep the sensor as the main set point all the time ? The family room is the coldest in my house in the winter time and I want my nest thermostat to heat that room primarily at the set point that I want it set at. So In other words, can I keep the sensor as the primary thermostat setting ?

When I open Nest app on phone, I only see Living room in the home menu where my thermostat is placed, but not those rooms where I kept the sensors and also I am unable to set the sensor temperature differently. It seems I can only control the Living room temperature .Please help

So still just have one question. What does switching between the sensors do? Like I have mine set up like yours with the nest in the living room and a sensor in the bedroom. Does it matter which one I have selected? ( With the dot next to it)

So am I right in thinking that if you got the nest to heat your room with new sensor to 75 that would bring the room/area with the nest thermostat over the 75?

How do the sensors connect to zone valves?
