Legit did not answer the question, but implied that a trade deficit is a scenario where the US is spending more on foreign goods (imports) than other countries are spending on US goods (exports). Is that accurate?

Without watching the video, I'm going to say a trade deficit is when you're buying more stuff than you're selling. Common sense tells me this could be because you are more able to afford their stuff than they are to afford yours, and could mean you're ending up with most of the stuff. Gotta love consumer capitalism...
