Just for some added context; In the UK (By the way the Land laws in scotland are different to England and Wales) when you purchase a property you DO in fact own it. He is right to say the government can take ownership through compulsory purchase powers but can only do so in two circumstances. 1. to build major roads and 2. if there is a need to build infrastructure. They cannot simply one day decide to show up at your property to take your land because they feel like it this video incorrectly suggests. Compulsory purchase powers are very rarely used and only in the most extreme circumstances, when used they are often objected to through an independent process with independent body's often siding with the land owners. When the government are successful in acquiring someone's property through compulsory purchase they pay fair market value + heavily compensate the land owners for ancillaries. Much less the case with Bitcoin, which only requires some bum to break into your home, steal your hard drive and then bang your savings are gone. What a foolish comparison.

You do own your real estate in the United States. The government can ask to purchase your land for a fair price but you don’t have to sell. If they force your hand that’s why we have the second amendment.
