Will The Govt Phase Out Old Tax Regime? | Nirmala Sitharaman Answers

There is no decision yet on when the old tax regime will be scrapped, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said Tuesday afternoon, after presenting the 2024 Union Budget in Parliament.
"Can't take a call on whether the old tax regime will be done away with... can only say the intention is to make the tax regime simpler," she said. "Can't say if there will be a sunset on the old regime."

Simplification is merely an euphemism to increase tax burden. Whatever this govt says has to be taken with a pinch of salt. When in a previous budget they said of pre-filled ITR, it was an euphemism for monitoring each and every Paisa you earn. This govt has always been a surveillance raj.

Lets make the loot simpler...govt would not tax who use govt services. It shall not tax much the big corporate house..the middle class which is running this country and does not even get 1 rs in form of pension, not eligible for govt medical insurance which is being run for free on his hard earned money would continue to be milked..
