Do you remember what that ran a unit price wise? Also, how deep you runnin' on that?

Noticed you didn't check your seeding depth. If you have adequate moisture I would try for one to one and one half inches in depth. If not you need to place it in dry soil. It will wait as long as it is in dry soil. Looks like you have fair moisture so I wouldn't worry about it. Also make sure to check your seed tubes cause critters can get in them and stop them up. Field looks like it worked up fairly well. Your coulters will help cut through the grass clumps. If you get a good settling rain you will see grain in a few days. Good luck with your winter crop.

I give you an A for effort, but you must smooth that field out prior to planting. Wheat is fickle and drills like it smooth. A chain drag and spring tooth do wonders. Nice to see a new guy getting in there. And get a grease gun and some spray oil. Spray the chains and bearings (if possible), grease the zirks.

First Like and coment.
How much and the average cost price per acre? (Seeds, fertilizer)
When is the average gain per Acre? (sorry for that kind of question, I know it's unpleasant, more I'm looking to learn. KK)

Sounds like you have pretty much everything covered. Wheat unless you get it too deep is pretty forgiving so I think you will see grain up in a few days. You mentioned depth control and I am sure you already know your depth is set by your press wheels. Mine has a 4 inch wide wheel so it makes controlling depth a little easier due to the width of the wheel but the setting mechanism is the same. Also I use a set of cylinder "stops" which are split aluminum rings that clamp around the cylinder shaft and limit travel. My drill didn't come with them so I bought a couple sets from Shoup. They have a lot of Great Plains parts. One last thing and I am guilty of it too and that is if you don't have a manual for your drill you need one and yes you need to read it. Again good luck and I think you will do fine.

Why do you cut the bag open, when you can pull the stitching out on the other end of the bag? This would let you more easily get a complete emptying of the bag.

I hope your wheat turns out better than the soybeans. You need to feed that little boy more, he is so hungry he was eating dirt! Lol.
