In this episode, we also discuss:

- The shocking percentage of muscle, strength, and power we lose every year
- How the science and perspective of weight training have evolved (Spoiler: it’s not just for gym rats anymore)
- What is the difference between strength, power, and hypertrophy?
- My personal experience overcoming chronic pain through resistance training
- The Protein Leverage Hypothesis (This is why you overeat food when you undereat protein!)

Yes, I can attest to that I’m 75 years old. I use a walker but I still had good muscle mass until about four months ago. My son died last May from suicide. I was so busy with his estate. I didn’t have time to grieve but in December it really hit me hard I quit doing my exercises I quit doing a lot of things and now here in March I am paying for it. I’m trying to get my muscles built back up. I also have continuous chronic pain in my joints, severe arthritis, so I will continue to do these exercises and never let anything to keep me from exercising again

Yes! I’ve read the three movements/exercises to continue as you age are the shoulder press, deadlift, and squats to keep your whole body strong…& I agree based on my own experience!

Not just more quality muscle at the expense of something else though. Balance, flexibility and resilience. Quality bones, fascia, lymph flow, etc.

Absolutely! My BEST first step to building and preventing loss of muscle has been GLOW, it's a mega-powerhouse liquid collagen! The high amounts of protein, collagen, superfoods, hyaluronic acid + more, has had a greater impact on my body than any plain protein or other "muscle building" supplement ever has. And holy smokes it took 15 years of damage & aging off my wrinkles, cellulite and hair!🤯 It helped my digestive issues too and just makes me feel so much better overall, like I can move again with ease. It really makes me feel and look so much better and younger, and it helped surprisingly fast! I started seeing & feeling changes in just a few days, it didn't take months like with my other proteins and supplements.

Definitely! I've put on TONS of muscle at 52 (female) by prolonged fasting, as crazy as that might sound. It's the mega doses of your own HGH and stem cells that get produced after 72 hours that are key.
