If you get a P0171 and PO174 check the a/c belt. I changed mind and I fixed it.

My Tahoe has a knocking sound once in a while, usually when I turn it on. No check engine light though. Runs great, just a weird noise to have.

I had the evap code and actually replaced the vapor canister, the valve and the purge solenoid. The charcoal filter in the vapor canister failed and filled the entire system with charcoal bb’s. I was getting worse than usual gas mileage. I found the line going from the back of the engine to the purge solenoid was completely blocked with the bb’s as well as the solenoid. Took that line off, cleared it out and blew air through the system from the hose at the canister connection to clear it. My friend watched as I did and said a lot of debris blew out of the end in the engine bay. All said and done I would guess there were thousands of charcoal bb’s blocking the entire evap system. I’ve only driven the vehicle once since the work but did get a lot better gas mileage on that short trip. Just an FYI for anyone dealing with the evap issue. Check the entire system.
