The time has finally come! The Riggory of Canada's Drag Race, the video you all have asked for. It may have taken a while to get here, but I'm here to solve one of the biggest mysteries of all time: what the f#@& was going on in this season?!

From the Jimbo vs Rita stan wars, some real question marks of decisions and challenges, to fan favorites like Lemon, Priyanka, Ilona Verley, and Tynomi Banks coming through, Canada's Drag Race was a LOT. Brooke Lynn Hytes and Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman weren't the only ones to come out of the season with a lot of hate, and we're going to break down every episode, every decision, and every head-scratching moment to determine: how rigged was Canada's Drag Race season 1?

Let me know what the biggest moment of riggory was in this season in the comments below!

I will say this about Canada's Drag Race: for as many problems as the first season had, it really seems like they listened to the complaints viewers had with this season to make the follow-up season better. I don't mind Season 1 per say, but Season 2 is an improvement on it in my eyes. Let's hope that continues when it comes to Down Under Season 2.

Violet chachki once said something like, “I thought I signed up to compete on the Olympics of drag, but I really just sign up for a reality show” and I think that’s something people need to remember when watching the show back. Yes it’s a competition but it’s first and foremost a reality show.

The thing about Canada's Drag Race Season 1 is that it could have been one of the best seasons ever of Drag Race because of the amazing cast, challenges and lip syncs, but was completely derailed by the awful and overproduced judging

The most bizarre part about Jimbo's critiques was that she actually got the "welcome to the competition" critique in the commercial challenge episode and not the snatch game one, literally one episode after she won the challenge 😅

I’ll never understand how Rita won and how she and BOA were both in the top on the first episode when it should’ve been Jimbo, Starzy & Kiara who should’ve been the top the first week

The fact lemon wasn't in the top for not sorry aboot it perplexes me

sorry, but kiara being low and boa being high for sorry not sorry *definitely* should've been marked as rigged. priyanka, lemon, scarlett, and kiara were the only queens who didn't mess up any choreo. *every single one of* the other girls messed up.

Whenever I hear the word riggory I immediately think of Canada’s drag race S1 so this is going to be a fun watch

I honestly agree that Kyne was eliminated the moment she spoke up to Brooke Lynn in the work room. I saw that and was like wow okay so she just packed her bags they’re gonna take her out no matter what she does .

I think Lemon really deserved the Pageant win. She was hysterical in the challenge, and the Toddlers and Tiaras reference in her runway was absolutely incredible.

I agree with your statement of never intending to crown priyanka. I was honestly surprised because the storytelling never gave Priyanka supremacy.

Can’t wait to see the “how Canada’s drag race should have went”

actually the "Jimbo welcome to the competition!" happens in the comercials challenge literally the episode after she won the f*cking snatch game which makes it even crazier

This season is one of the best when you click off when the judging happens and completely ignore the circumstances of the quite amazing lip syncs. I love the queens to death.

You know, I’ll give this season something else: it has one of the best reading challenges throughout the entire franchise. There are some terrific ones thrown in here.
“Priyanka: you talk about sex a lot, but the only thing you’re f-cking is Stupid!”
“BOA: I want to take you to the gym… so I can use you as my exercise ball!
“LEMON: can you hold my drink? I love putting it on a coaster!”
“Pause for 5 seconds… okay, can we appreciate that Ilona wasn’t complaining for five seconds?”
“Rita Baga: you think you’re all that and a bag of chips! But it’s more like Baga Garbage!”
“KIARA, are you a bird? Your runways are CHEEP-CHEEP-CHEEP!”
“LEMON: you remind me of a lemon-meringue pie. Light and fluffy on top with a crusty little bottom!”
“I’m glad we finally have Drag Race in Canada, so now a Canadian can win Drag Race!” *looks at Brooke-Lynn*
And so on.

If you surgically remove the judging this is one of my favorite seasons just because the cast, their personalities and their talent is all just so amazing and fun to watch.

I liked both seasons of CDR but you can DEFINITELY see the riggory and favoritism in CDR1. A couple of Rita’s wins should’ve went to Jimbo IMO (Jimbo’s denim outfit & pageant performance vs. Rita’s…#Choices). I’m glad that Jeffrey spoke out about his treatment on the show. I feel like production made him look like a villain for the sake of them wanting some “eye candy” as he was told by the production team. I totally agree with a lot of what was said in the video & I’m happy that things got cleaned up in CDR2. I’m excited to see what you have to say about it. Great job on this video!!

“Hate train against Rita Baga” was so real for people in 2020 (which is dumb as hell because Rita is talent) but feels like a fake spoiler now in 2022

The Riggory of Canada's Drag Race...
A.K.A The favoritism of Rita Baga and the mistreatment of Jimbo, Lemon and Tynomi 😭 With that said, ALL of the queens from this season are so talented and amazing ❤

5:34 "I've never understood why the fandom turns against the DA that was favored."
I'm with you on that man. There's the old saying: Hate the Game, Not the Player. Same thing happened with Art Simone when they randomly brought her back on Drag Race Down Under and she got a lot of flack for it. I'm pretty sure even she said she didn't ask for that to happen, that's just what the show did with her. Same with Rita here. Was she favored a lot and won quite a few challenges she probably shouldn't have? Heck yea. But do I really think she asked to be favored in this? No.
