The La Brea tar pits are now famous with the NBC show La Brea, but did you know this place actually exists? It's located in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles, and anyone can see this Ice Age-era tar pit and its bubbles up close and for free. Come discover what the real La Brea is really like!

From there, you'll see the Museum Row along Wilshire Blvd, including the famous LACMA and its lamps. We end up walking until the Farmer's Market and The Grove for a delicious quesadilla.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

That is the first time I have seen videos of the tar pits and lived in Orange County for 8 years, but never made it to see them of the Farmers Market. They do have good Mexican in SoCal, I do remember that.

Good video! Next time you're in LA, check out the historic Gilmore Gas Station that's now a Starbucks. The Gilmore family owns the original Farmers Market. It was a farm, but then they discovered oil, & they became one of the leading producers of oil products in the US. The gas station that's now a Starbucks (at Highland & Willoughby) was one of their very first gas stations. The city of LA outlawed the oil wells within the city limits, so the Gilmores had to close down their oil wells & look for new uses for their land. The Farmers Market was born shortly after. I really enjoy your videos! Thanks for such great city tours!
