Nicholas II in his family, celebrated final Xmas in exile in Tobolsk with closest servants there. They lived under protection for almost eight months. But even the conclusion could not overshadow the holiday they already loved at the time. Christmas in our country was celebrated based on the old style on Dec 25th. It was the main winter holiday. It was usual to put up a Xmas tree on Xmas and in the governor’s house where the Romanos lived in Tobolsk, there were twosuch Xmas trees. Soldiers guarding Romanov’s brought them at the request of Alexandra Feodorovna, both trees decorated by her with daughters. There were no toys. Silver, rain and church candles were used. The Romanov’s prepared Christmas gifts with their own hands for example, Alexandra Feodorovna knitted vests for the soldiers who treated them well. Children gave their parents cards that they painted themselves. Food shortage solved by Tobolsk residents for Christmas.They brought honey and eggs to Governors House.
