Some of the Tracks from this video are courtesy of GameChops' Mario & Chill

Mario & Chill explores the rich musical history of the Super Mario video game series through the lens of 80s and 90s electronica. A spiritual successor to our album Zelda & Chill, Synthwave artist Helynt created a progressive and nostalgic tribute to gaming's biggest icon. Licensed compositions courtesy of Nintendo.

Inspired by the era when Mario first hit the scene, Mario & Chill was produced with synthesizers, guitars, and retro drum machines all akin to the era. Created by Helynt, a synth and retrowave artist from Italy, Mario & Chill is a progressive trip through video game music history.

Games featured include Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario & Luigi, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Odyssey. Composers include Koji Kondo, Kenta Negata, Satomi Terui, Naoto Kubo, Mahito Yokata, and Yoko Shimomura.

Mario & Chill is available digitally worldwide. It can be streamed on Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music, and purchased from iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and more. Limited edition CDs and vinyl are available through GameChops on Bandcamp.

If art is about invoking a reaction or emotions.... this is very art.

I always thought of Toad as childlike, so this is especially unsettling. Congrats.

The eyes of realistic Toad are like ever-deepening holes through the very fabric of space. When you look into them, you cannot stop; they draw you into their thirst for light and matter. The world is crumbling in the wake of this creature.

In all seriousness, though great job on this thing; I probably wont sleep tonight :)

I like how this 'series' of Mario sculptures started out epic and devolved so quickly into nightmare-fuel.

On Christmas Eve, when I was 8, I discovered that Santa wasn't actually real when I recognized my dad dressed up as Santa.

It irrevocably destroyed part of my childhood.

I'm so glad that these videos are here, to help keep that tradition alive.

I love how you said “ this just kinda looks lazy, I’ll remake them using some clay.” I admire your standard of excellence, and your inclination to go above and beyond.

You are doing amazing work my friend, don’t sell yourself short.

In the MCU (Mario Cinematic Universe), Toad's mushroom cap is an actual, removable hat. But having it fused to his skull is also very fun and wholesome.

According to the old Super Mario Bros cartoon, Toad's mushroom top could be removed like a hat, leaving a smooth, bald head on top. Excellent work as always!

This isn’t terrifying, this is unbelievably beautiful. This brought a tear to my eye while I was making weird grunting noises. Truly beautiful.

the old man approach was definitely an interesting one. I probably would’ve went with the baby approach personally but it’s definitely still great art

At first I was terrified, but then I remember that he lives in your house. At night. While you sleep.

My 7 year old and I are so enthralled by your work. He is interested in practicing with clay. Would you be able to reccomend some starting tools and clay?

You're a great talent!

You know, when I thought of the concept of realistic Toad, I was envisioning something a bit more like Majin Buu. Maybe a bit more like a jolly round buddah vibes. But then.... then this happened. And you know what... I accept it. It might not have been what my eyes wanted to see, but I get what horrors you were going for. This invokes the feelings I imagine most people describe when they get annoyed at Toad screaming 'HAHLO' at them. I have never understood why people had a problem with it before, but now, thanks to your piece, I think I do.

All joking aside, another amazing piece. And happy holidays, my man.

I love that the relative size of these characters keeps changing. Toad is horrendously big if he’s standing next to the diorama of luigi and yoshi and/or mario. He might well be the same size as Bowser from that diorama 😂

Somewhere he has a haunted room with all of his realistic creations

Just thinking about it gives me chills
