I use Smart Cuffs as my primary and occasionally will use B Strong for cardio applications to change it up. But Smart Cuffs is my jam.

@1:35 You're not blocking blood flow to a muscle, you're restricting the venous return (not the arteries) so keeping blood pooled within the muscle. Arteries (which you are NOT restricting) take oxygenated blood to working muscles. Also, you are not "blocking" blood flow, you are merely "restricting" blood flow. Important differences!

Nice presentation with good physiology. I am 62 and have begun resistance and weight training, now adding BFR bands to my workout. Looking forward to the progress!

I'm 53 and BFR has been the keystone of my training for about two years. I will switch it out with heavier weights and fewer weights periodically. I think ego will keep a lot of older men from trying this because they would rather be seen hiding their pain while they bench 280 vs wearing bands and benching 60.

I use BFR after EMS. Both work very well!

I would like to add some crucial points regarding cuff placement. 3.36 seconds of the video cuff placement is totally wrong (cuffs wraps around under the knees). Cuffs should be placed proximal part of the legs and arms. Please always remember the safety rules the most importantly do not place the cuff simultaneously both arms and legs.

Cool video but some misleading information. It is less about blocking arterial flow and much more about fully occluding venous return. By doing so, you get pooling in the occluded limb, cell swelling, and a hypoxic environment. This in turn triggers the anabolic reaction you speak of.
