"sweet spots" for amount of totems summoned with ancestral bond? No thanks, I'll just sacrifice most of my character power to get as many totems as physically possible 😈

GGG has done some significant balance changes to Spirit ever since they first announced that new resource back at Exilecon 2023. At first every character would start with 100 base Spirit, which was just enough to activate a single buff or meta skill, but more recently during the Witch trailer and the second streamer event at Lost Angeles, the characters were actually starting the game with only 0 Spirit while buff skills had a significant decrease in their Spirit cost (Herald of Ash went from 100 to 30 Spirit reserved).

That is quite a big change because it implies that our characters won't be able to active any buff or meta gem without investing into Spirit through gear or passive nodes unless GGG has added multiple sources of those items that drop from bosses and grant us a flat amount of Spirit, but so far the only known source of Spirit is the Blackjaw boss from Act 2. Also, with characters now starting with 0 Spirit, it will be significantly harder to scale up our maximum Spirit by getting effects that grant us "% increased Spirit", assuming those will even exist in PoE 2.

From self cast perspective that's huge because you need to invest into reduced mana cost or other sources of mana regen to compensate for cast speed investments because you lose tons of mana, you still need a little bit but not to much since you reserve auras with SPIRIT.

Hoping Grace, Determination and other generic defence/damage multiplying auras are gone in PoE2. They should be a lot more niche to prevent them being mandatory spirit check marks to fill in every build.

Love the content and explanations. Cant wait to learn more about POE2 mechanica from you as the game grows. With POE 1 its tough only olaying 4 years so barelly scrarching the surface 😂😂😂😂😂

If you swap to a scepter(which gives extra spirit), cast a permanent minion and then swap to a staff would your minion then be unsummoned because you no longer have enough spirit to keep it up?

You didn't go over any of the new skill types that reserve spirit, like the chance on hit ones such as SRS or cast on shock or cast on stun.

I kinda like the visuals of PoE1 more, something about PoE2 visuals is off, it feels like a mobile game?

If you can have unlimited totems and they reserve spirit how on earth are you supposed to move a totem? You kill a pack and move on, press right click but it summons a new totem, your old ones are still there. Now you need 5 totems for this fight but 4 of them are somewhere else, you have no spirit left and you need to wait for them to despawn, never mind you're dead.
We need invocation for totems.

Watch there being some way of protecting your HP with Spirit or something and everybody reserving all their mana anyway HA
