Ideally, you’d have a deeper tub that allowed a substrate to directly put the plants in. At least a sponge filter, and some rocks/driftwood for them to hide in.

If you do this, which I plan on doing, please remember a few things. One you need to dechlorinate the water, two there should be filtration, three make sure there is a sizeable shaded area. Do not just do what the video shows you'll kill any animal pit in there

First add topsoil then sand at the bottom, plant plants directly and secure with rocks, then add water.depending on the amount of water add salt, then let the water clear.add fish.i have 8 years and 10 years tank.never feed them, never changed water just add them and salt once a month.the fish just produce and eat whatever is present.they are so far the most rewarding of my animals

How do you clean it? That’s the big question. My fishes have multiplied so much, and all the poop settles at the bottom. I need to take out the fish to clean the tank, but I’m scared I might accidentally kill a few because they are so tiny. So what do you do?
