I love the fact that the national animal is the unicorn! What other animal embodies strength, grace and fantasy? It's perfect.

I wish i was in Edinburgh to see the snow!the pictures i have seen make the place look magical.o to be at Greggs with a hot tea or coffee and a sticky bun and snowy Edinburgh all around me !
Crivens the national animal should be Nessie.

Wondrous winter weather! 🤣❄☃️
I love the fact that Scotland has a mythical unicorn as the National animal..
Here in Denmark, our National animal is based on H.C. Andersen's story of The Ugly Duckling, so we have the Whopper Swan. It is a real swan, but would probably never have been considered, as a National animal, without 'ol H.C. 😉🤣 and his story tale weaving.
The only other candidate would have been a stork, but personally I am pleased with our choice. I say 'our choice' bc we actually had it up for a vote, through the National news!
So we, the people, decided 👍
Thanks Tony, hello to the ladies of the house
- love from Denmark 🌸 💕

Tony now that you mentioned unicorns appearing all around Edinburgh I think that calls for you to give us the 🦄 unicorn walking tour. I have a flight ✈️ booked to Edinburgh August 1, 2021 and if the USA gets the vaccine distribution right I hope to be in Scotland 16 days. Woo hoo! When I planned the trip I needed light at the end of the covid tunnel and now it may get to be my dream come true. Happy Holiday to you and I hope you feel better soon.

I laughed so hard with your opening scene Tony!! 😂 This was a really interesting vlog and I love a bit of history. I was always a little unsure why Scotland had a mythical creature as its national animal but the history and symbolism is fascinating! Thank you.

Did you see that a unicorn sculpture has been donated to the Helix at Falkirk. Nice wee companion piece to the Kelpies.

Embracing my inner unicorn like a true Scottish woman... literally! When we look at history today, even though Dame Shirley is Welsh, there seems to 🎵be a little bit of history repeating 🎵 right now, which I’m proud to support Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 once again being independent away from evil Westminster Tory rule! Sorry to be so political, but I really take pride in being Scottish, not British, under circumstances that’s polarised my safety and well-being as an autistic and disabled woman 👩

I loved this video. It was really interesting to find out all that information. I would have thought the Unicorn because your country is so different from other countries in that there is a quiet and mysterious peace around your country. At least that is what I felt when I was there, which made me believe that there must be unicorns there.

i always thought the unicorn has been in the Scottish identity since the 13th century. my limited understanding of the story is that when Noah loaded animals 2 by 2 he included 2 unicorns, 1 fell of the ark and drowned, the surviving 1 landed in Scotland and was intent on self harm with his loss, the scots made the chain of gold and crown along with precious stones for its own protection, they adopted it because it was the enemy of the lion.

Despite having been a fan of Celtic history, lore, and art, I've only recently learned that the unicorn (one of my two favorite creatures in the world) is the national animal of Scotland! And thanks for this glimpse into some of the thought that went into it.

Thank you for the in-depth look of the unicorn. Very interesting. I must admit when I saw Lillian' s unicorn, my mind immediately flashed to Agnes in Despicable Me, saying so gleefully, " It's so fluffy!" Thank you for another informative and fun vlog! :)
