I was just telling my father 3 hours ago that noise canceling headphones don't help when people are talking on the news or when channels are changed cause the frequency changes. Then I get this youtube short explaining this. Phones are really listening to you! I even have microphone and location off

Perfect for a plane ride or car ride, anything relaxing really. Even walking or something. And you can hear when your mom randomly screams at you

I have aspergers and I get very easily overestimated by external sounds so ANC headphones make me able to go outside like a normal person. I used to hate going to parks because kids screaming are awful sounding.

That's what I love about the xcience of sound being a wave, its way simpler than we think. Math and stuff like how ANC works being just the phase of the waves being synced but just opposite value. So cool that we figure out how to do this

The problem is that consistent repetitive sounds like rain - they don’t bother. I buy ANC headphones to block other people talking and -yes, , children screaming in the park. Oh what to do what to do

Does ANC cancel sorrounding noise and sound to only the person who wears them or also yo the person that the wearer is talking to on a call?

It just sucks in general... "canceling" is a very misleading way to describe what its actually doing... noise proofing in ear muffs is so much better
