I’ve been a civil servant since 2016. I’m at a managerial level and it’s fair to say I’m disillusioned by the service. But it’s a secure job and it’s convenient. I’ve seen heads of the civil service come and go. Most are gaslighting figureheads and I forget their names as quick as I hear them. But I’ll remember Mr Case, he’s stood up for us and showed he recognises what we do. I appreciate that

As an ex civil servant I can say that it doesn't matter where your politics lie, you are a non person who gets in the way of their school playground politicking. Tory, Labour, Lib Dem they treated us the same way. Unless you went to the "right schools" and then you get promoted - maybe even knighted! Their contempt towards anyone who has to try to implement their policies is not at all surprising to those of us who lived it every day.

if only this government knew what a day's work is as Civil Sevants do..whether working at home, at their desks or out in the field...Civil Servants are all amongst you, not just the folk that are in Whitehall & are castigated, mainly because they see what this lot get up to & give wise advice which, sadly, falls on deaf ears with this bunch !

Thank god there are people frustrating the government and forming a buffer to their madness. If they formed no sort of push back we would already be much more acrewed than we are. Its only a shame they dont frustrate them more ...our civil service needs to run to keep things going... the government does not. They take a huge break for months and nobody notices their absense. If the civil service took two months off we would all be in the shit!

Trouble is, Jeremy Corbyn would have been perfectly justified in accusing the people working for him, as LOTO, of undermining him. In fact he left it far too late, by about two years.

Being a civil servant is a thankless job. They must feel empty a lot of the time and of no consequence. I was a Dental Nurse in a Government run service. Was paid a pittance and if it wasn't for the children and adults I worked for I wouldn't have stayed 9 years. It would take me hours to unwind after work each day but I loved to help the people get the best service possible. However since and during lockdown there is no Service now for these peopke entitled to it. Paying Senior Dental Surgeons big salaries to direct a "no service" available anymore and tell the Dentists to tell the children to go PRIVATE is shocking dtate of affairs. Bill Gates & Co have definitely succeded in destroying the Dental Services in my County of Wexford Ireland. 👹👺🤡💩
