What's the biggest challenge between boards and management today? Comment below.

Dato Sri Idris Jala is a former minister (ranked by Bloomberg in 2014 as the top 10 most influential policy makers in the world) and Chairman of PEMANDU Associates and Heineken Malaysia, as well as Co-Chairman of Sunway Group.

Good Aftn DS Idris & Leon. This specific episode [ EP51] is one of the most thought-provoking insights into how Company Board of Directors play a diligent & vigilant role to set the parameters so that there are no overlapping roles with CEOs of an organisation.
The learning outcomes from this podcast shows that BODs need to function independently and to raise any "Red Flags". DS is staight to the point, bold in his thoughts & always has a Strategic Mind to put things into perspective, sharing real life experiences which I believe are not commonly found in any text books. DS describes his knowledge, experiences & skills as a BOD where it looks simple but done with full commitment & responsibility.
It is hoped that lessons learned from this episode can be the guiding principles for the betterment of an organisation, defining the roles played by BODs & CEOs. A critical analysis is the way forward. Tq.

The quality and the ooze of knowledge adrenaline spurns inside me. Idris’ experience over many decades must be acknowledged and recognized. This podcast is a benchmarking exercise for the dos and donts. Keep this good work going. Leon you can be the next Jala icon.

Dato Sri Idris, the fact that u said “ I don’t need a single cent of golden handshake if i fail to deliver as a CEO” distinguishes you from the rest of the pack of ordinary CEO’s. Salute !

The board definitely. Board comprises a bunch of people who, together, can always isolate & bully the CEO.

Shareholders eat Directors, Directors eat CEO, CEO eat other staff. Ultimately, shareholders can influence and do all types of shit to the company without being held liable for it most of the time.
