Revisiting my first guitar project, an Indonesian built Squier Stratocaster with 57/62 Fender Pickups.

The paint is tacky, the pickups are noisy. It's time for a make over, and the first step in tearing it apart. That's what this video is all about!

I will be watching the rebuild series with interest. My one and only electric guitar is a 1985 MIJ Squier Bullet I've had since I was 16, and it is utterly unplayable due to noise it developed at some point. I normally never would have dared disassemble it myself and probably would've eventually taken it to a shop, but watching your videos over the past several months has made this feel within reach.

I like how you bought a house to match your green Strat. :-) Which sounds fantastic BTW. Fuzz is my favorite distortion, hands down...love that sound.

Did you ever figure out where the grounding issue was coming from!

Hey man. Subbed. You told me to. Hahah. JK but yes I did. Anyway thank you. I'm in search of pups to replace my MIM ceramics in my black strat. Funny I have player series in my classic vibe. So, I'm trying to see if tex mex will be better than player series or do I really need the higher end ...heheh.
