ARMENIA, AZERBAIJAN, BELARUS, ESTONIA, GEORGIA, KAZAKHSTAN, KYRGYZSTAN, LATVIA, LITHUANIA, MOLDOVA, RUSSIA, TAJIKISTAN, TURKMENISTAN, UKRAINE, AND UZBEKISTAN ARE 15 COUNTRIES THAT HAVE INDEPENDENCE FROM THE SOVIET UNION.

The list gets smaller when you eliminate the countries that are ok with Russian troops being on their soil, like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Armenia. Georgia used to be part of the security treaty signed by the previous 5 former Soviet republics, but opted out later on. The subsequent Russian invasion of Georgia played out in exactly the same way as the current Russian conflict with the Ukraine. Parts of Georgia split off and appealed to Russia for help. In came Russian tanks. Wait for it. It's also the exact same playbook that Germany used in the prelude to WW2 to bite off pieces of neighboring countries.
