When my daughter was 10, I showed her how to vacuum for one of her chores. The next day while vacuuming, she sucked up the cord and it set the carpet on fire. Needless to say, I never asked her to vacuum again.

I love you guys so much! I always look forward to new vlog posts from you guys! I think I would really enjoy hanging out with you guys ( if I actually lived in you area), but I live on the opposite side of the U.S. Please keep the posts coming!

I don't have any kids, but when I was younger, my parents had a poster board with all of our chores and we got a sticker every time one was completed. If we did them all we got $5 dollars at the end of the week, if we did a full month of them we got to go out for a family day i.e. going to the museum or science centre

I have been trying to start my daughter on this system but it was just verbally telling her what she needed to do and how much she would get at the end of the week. Well let's just say she never earned a dime. I am definitely going to get a chore board and make this a must in my home because I need some help! I have a new baby also well an 8 month old but it's exhausting trying to keep this whole house clean and tend to baby. Thanks for sharing this video it was very helpful!

I love how BOTH parents are involved way to go DAD cause i can't get that in my home. Kuddos to you teaching your kids responsibilities because this teaches them true independence from their parents and not to feel so obligated to know the parents are going to buy everything...lol

We do the same. We leg them spend 50% of cash, the other half in saving but whatever they spend 10% goes yo charity

Any input now that it’s been years past?! I need some insight if this worked out well and if you would have changed anything different ❤🥰

Thanks for doing this video I really think my kids needed something like this, not just for the money but a system like this is needed with little ones.

I would never be able to keep my kids out of the mason jars.  :)  Good idea though.

i'm 12 and i make my bed, clean my room, vacume my room, sweep the floor, wash all dishes ( i have no dishwasher) dust puctures, clean the toilet every other week (dont worry my mom does it the weeks i dont) and i get nothin. i only get paid 1$ extra if i do an extra chore in adition to that, like washing the cabinates, scrubbing spots off the floor and washing the toilet on my mom's days. i dont have any pets or sibblings, so its all my job :L

Do you tell them how to split their chore money between spend, give and save, or do they choose?

Loved this, thank you for doing it so quickly after your last video. My son is not quite 21/2 so I won't be starting for at least 6 months. Did you all crumple up the bills and toss them into the jar, like Dave did when his kids were just starting the program at 3 years old? Also, do you divide up their money for the give, save, spend jars or do you allow them to decide how much to put into each jar? Thanks again for the great tips

Do you have your girls in extra curriculum activities like sports, gymnastics, etc.? If so, do you make them pay for part or all of the cost? I have enjoyed watching y'alls videos.
