Heidegger, Authenticity and Being-in-the-world

Reality is richer than science and modernity conceive. Reflecting on the richness of the world is where thought begins—in thaumazein, wonder over the non-reducible wealth of the world. Philosophy is the opposite of all comfort and assurance. It is turbulence, the turbulence into which man is spun, so as in this way alone to comprehend Dasein without delusion. This disruption is where thought begins.

Modernity is an anti-denken culture. Modernity reduces everything to a one-dimensional conception, objectifying and commodifying everything to instruments.

In asking the question of the meaning of Being, we approach the wealth of the world, and we move into a space where fundamental transformation of thought and life can take place.
