Marjane Satrapi - Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2023

Marjane Satrapi was born in Rasht, Iran. She now lives in Paris, where she creates her films and paintings. She is the author of Persepolis, and she co-wrote and co-directed the animated feature film version of Persepolis, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2007. In September 2023, she released a graphic novel Woman, life, freedom, together with 20 artists, to support the wave of protests that has shaken Iran since the death of Mahsa Jina Amini last year.
