This Video gives a glimpse of Types of Operating systems.

There is a lot to learn, Keep in mind “ Mnn bhot karega k chor yrr apne se nahi hoga ya maza nahi aara, Just ask 1 question “ Why I started ? “

Do provide you feedback in the comments, we are going to make it best collectively.

Goals of OS
Maximum CPU utilization .=>CPU should not be idle
Process Starvation .=>process is not executed due to other process...which should not happen it is necessary to get each process executed.
High priority job execution.=>Before job eg, Anti-virus Scan.

Single process OS: 1time =~one job....no maximum CPU utilization .not high priority job execution ..process starvation is there as one process keeps on execting.

Hardware then software

Batch OS: punch cards where there during that era..
Jobs where in punch cards.
Operator sort job according to requirements and batches made According to similar type of job.
Each batch is being executed one by one.

No maximum CPU utilization.
Process starvation
No high priority jobs.

Multiprogrammming OS: "often asked"

Ready queue: jobs to be executed

Each job goes one by one in CPU.
if one goes to I/o next process is executed other is in wait state.
This is called context switching.
P1 IN WAIT STATE THEN EVERYTHING IS STORED IN PCB(PROCESS CONTROL BLOCK) P2 STATE IS RESTRORED.

Multiprogramming: CPU & context switching.
Time sharing.
Take some time quantum 100 ms ~1 quantum.
Time is shared so responsive Ness increases.

CPU utilization is more.
No process starvation.
High priority job executed first.
Multitasking.

Multiprocessing os:context switching, Time sharing is there.
CPU>1.
No starvation at all.

If 1 cpu is damaged cpu 2 and other will work.

6.Distributed OS: losely coupled.
One OS ~many CPU and Memory..(pCs say) connected in network.
Different configuration...and Different jobs can be done on all those..

7.Real time os: error at minute level...more accuracy needed.fast execution and error free.
Eg, Flight ATC nuclear plant.

Imp type: 1st four OS
Examples:
Single : MS dos
Batch : Atlus.
Multiprogrammming: THE
Multitasking:CTSS
Multiprogrammming: Windows
Distributed:
Real time:

Drawbacks of SBI :
1. No maximum employee utilization
2. Customer Starvation
3. High priority jobs will be entertained after Lunch

Lakshay bhaiya, your way of explaining the concept of operating system is so easy.it is helpful for a student who doesn't belong to the cs branch .Now he can understand the concept easily
