oreo is not even on 2% of devices and it has been 7+ months, api 27 is still in beta, and now android p (presumably api 28) is announced? see you boys on p in 2025

Looks promising ! New JobScheduler, Dual camera support and more and more support to kotlin is such a win win for the developer community.
Also disabling microphone, camera and other sensors in the background sounds more safer to me.

I can't get to see Narrow Cutout anymore in the emulator.
I only have:
Corner Display
Double Display
Tall Display.

Was this removed?

I like the privacy changes. I sleep better knowing that some random """"flashlight"""" app isn't recording my voice.

But does this mean that non-malicious apps cannot use the camera/microphone/sensors in the background no matter what? Even when permission is given by the user? If that's the case it would only mean less freedom for developers and lesser creation of unique apps. By implementing these restrictions you put users above developers, which is not necessarily wrong but it does seem like a trend. More and more apps require root access and we are just slowly moving towards a closed iOS like platform experience. What's next, Google forcing "reviews" on apps before uploading to the playstore?

I hope there is a change log included so we can see what's new in app updates. I use this app called Changes from the play store. It's not even out of beta yet. But it let's me know exactly what's new in the app update. This should be included Google services already. What's the holdup on something like this! 😨

I hope that in this new Android P include a Screen Recorder as it exists in iOS 11 that is at least in front of this function.

you shouldn't make it easier for oems to have notches. that kind of copying of a feature that nobody wants should be punished not encouraged. imagine and 18/9 phone with a notch playing video. that is the worst possible senario where half of the screen will not have video on it
