Here’s one massive advantage Ayanokoji has that people might overlook. Ideology. As impressive as L was, he was hindered dramatically in the story. He possessed some personal rules that he followed to the end that limited his actions, for example, his insistence to directly challenge Light on air. Ayanokoji will do literally anything to win.

Light is pretty immune to manipulation and Ayanokoji is more intelligent then intellectual, he takes in information and questions it, sure, but he wouldn’t be able to anticipate shinagami or the death note. Bro all everyone does is put people in L’s spot like ofc now that the show is over and you have seen how light worked against L you can put anyone in that position and they could come out on top but that doesn’t mean he will fight the same against ayanokoji they are different people requiring different skills to take down the other you are simply using how light fought against L against every one mostly ayanokoji if not indefinitely him. My point is that you can’t really say light loses here because that was how he fought against L he fought differently against near and Mello but mikami being an idiot makes a mistake leading to near finding out the real death note and leading to light dying. But regardless of that fact stop using light like this the feats he has shown are actually pretty good people just tend to overlook them not to mention manga light where his every actions are more in depth and complex and ctw light who’s gambling and chess feat both put him above both anime and manga light
