China's GDP sees historic 6.8% plunge in Q1

China's economy shrank 6.8 per cent in the first quarter. It is the first decline in economic output since the Cultural Revolution in the 1970s. Martin Rasmussen, an economist from Capital Economics, shared his views on the latest figures.

So what? If businesses are shutdown due to pandemic, the economy has to shrink temporarily. It is a concern only if the pandemic lasts forever. The real concern is the US economy which has many frivolous components like social media, excessive ad based revenues, exorbitant celebrity pays fiat currency driven imports. A tulip like economy.
