The Death Troopers in Rogue One are intentionally very tall and lanky, and are played by slender but Vader-esque tall extras. The idea was suggested initially by Gareth Edwards himself, in part to distinguish their appearance from the traditional Stormtroopers. Think basketball player. The dimensions of this figure look quite accurate tbh.

Actually the Death Troopers being thinner is a conscious effort by Gareth Edwards (the director of Rogue One). He wanted these elite troopers to look more athletic and thin.

I can't tell you how excited I am to get this figure! Probably gonna get at least three of them. I'm gonna get some great pictures with them! They look badass!

Not sure why you're "underwhelmed, " the figure is exactly how it appears in any of the trailers, and will proceed to appear in the movies. When you said you expected a cloak, I had to pause the video for a minute and wonder where on earth you saw a cape or cloak of any sort. Both of the guns this figure comes with are also seen in the trailers and/or pictures released to the public.

I think his rifle should've been bigger and a little longer as well. I agree with you on the armor though although I don't think he's too thin he's just lacking the extended shoulder pad on the right side and the tack gear webbing with grenades and extra magazines to power the rifle which would make him appear more bulky. I completely agree that he appears stripped down to some degree and I'm disappointed by that. Still a very cool figure.

Yeah, this figure should have come with the pullover armour with grenades attached to beef it up a bit. Just like the VC 3.75 figure. Great review. 👍🏻

I'm not quite sure, but I think that the concept for the Death Trooper squadron was inspired by the Einsatzgruppen (Elite SS/Schutzstaffel soldiers).

I was really hoping it would come with a shoulder pauldron. The black one from the sandtrooper variant doesn't work too well because it has a flat finish instead of gloss.

Also he seems slightly out of scale compared to my other troopers. He's as tall as Vader and Captain Phasma!

I reckon they'll release a Commander Death Trooper later on, I think that's the dude we see in the trailer with the pauldron and armour.
