NASA officials held a briefing on Friday, sharing new coloured images from the historic landing of the Perseverance rover as it descended onto the surface of Mars, and answered questions about the mission.

Perseverance landed in the Jezero Crater on the Red Planet and sent back its first image of Mars shortly after landing.

The biggest, most sophisticated Mars rover ever built — a car-size vehicle bristling with cameras, microphones, drills and lasers, is a long-range project to bring the first Martian rock samples back to Earth to be analyzed for evidence of ancient life.

Why is every comment here so negative? Are people really that skeptical about any good thing that happens now days? It's almost like they are LOOKING for things to confirm their predetermined mindset that it is fake. These kinds of people will one day be that crazy uncle who comes to thanksgiving with wild conspiracy theories.

So can they plant a tree or seed on mars first? It has a lot of carbon dioxide that the trees love and the tree can produce oxygen. Just need to find water 😃

Finally! NASA back in the world's good books. Goodness knows how you're going to top this in order to keep the $ rolling in. Just noticed she had a user manual on the rover layout explanation, for some reason it made me laugh.

Are you looking to age date relative to the earth or solar system. Would aging rules be the same as on earth. Layering for example, the slayings under are older.

at 20:32 a perfect square to the upper far left . Why do they they always drop these rovers in desert barren areas? Why not drop one on the green equator of Mars or near some ancient martian structures? Dropping these things in the deserts is boring.

This is the video game streaming most liked in history, why didn't they show real images instead of funny pictures made by computer??
