I enjoyed this "face off" between these study Bibles. I agree with you, Randy. Each Bible serves a purpose better than the other and you'd be at no loss to own both. In my opinion, I think the Holman is better suited for the (younger) Bible College student with a more limited acquaintance with Scripture. The Holman notes seem to cover Biblical data more so than the Nelson. Conversely, the Nelson edition is probably a better choice for a seminary student as the focus of the notes is more theological. I know. I've owned the edition that precedes the full-color Nelson. The notes predominately coincided with the 10 divisions of systematic theology. In that respect, it's unique to study Bibles. (The three-year Bible Institute that I attended in Wyoming drew from both educational and preparation objectives.) You can't go wrong with either the Holman or Nelson.

I have them both. I love them both. I love that the Homan has the Dedicatory to King James, and the Translators to the Reader section, and I like the two silk ribbon markers, and the self-pronouncing text.

Just received my Thomas Nelson last week! What a gorgeous Bible! 👍 Altho I'm struggling with the King James translation (which I welcome all input and suggestions), I've gotta say the helps are awesome and the notes unsurpassed by anything else I've ever seen! 🙌 The text point is so easy to read (even the notes) and the in-text maps are so clear! What a welcome breath of fresh air! There were a couple pages that were incorrectly cut so they're stuck together and it looks like there's something under the front cover liner as there's a visible strip of gold on the bottom quarter but I'm happy to say the seller apologized and is sending me a replacement. Great video Randy! You and Bible Believing Christian helped with my decision! 👍👍 You're BOTH enablers and I've yet to find a support group! 🤣🤣🤣

What a great comparison. I have the Holman, and from what I see in your video, the Nelson wins, dude. The Nelson has a more pleasing to the eye kind of appeal that I'm sure you've noticed. Nelson paid more attention to the Greek--well now, that sways the judges, don't it?

I now have both of these great study bibles. I’m currently working out of the Nelson one. Once I’m comfortable with that one, I’ll switch over to the Holman.

The Nelson is going to be a Dispensational Moderate to Non-Calvinistic Study Bible. The notes are put out by Liberty University under Elmer Towns and Fallwell in the 80s. My first study Bible was this one before they jazzed it up. The Holman is basically the same study Bible as their NKJV and CSB Notes. It is more neutral on Dispensationalism and more reformed leaning but still neutral. This is my observation.

I have been looking for a study Bible for a couple of weeks now. This Thomas Nelson appears to check all the boxes. Unfortunately, it's printed in CHINA and I will NOT knowingly purchase anything made in that Christian hating country. I would like to have a version of this Bible in a goatskin. I don't mind paying more if it the quality is there. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be much obliged.

I love the Thomas Nelson King James Study Bible. This is the grandson of the King James Study Bible I got when I was 16. The First edition after it changed from the Liberty Annotated Study Bible.

Thomas Nelson is much better. Both bibles are very good, no doubt about that, but Thomas Nelson looks way better.
From Holman I like the personal size tan leather study bible. Really compact and screams quality!

i tend to read more Thomas Nelson bibles, because alot of his beliefs line up with mine. because while i do believe in the rapture, im not exactly sure where i fall on where it takes place. i grew up with the pre-trib rapture, but after listening to other preachers over the years give there take, i kinda lean with, whenever it happens i let God decide. because it's like Jesus said while he was here on the earth, no one knows the day or the hour. the first half Jesus went over in Matthew 24, is what all is gonna happen on the earth, but when he goes into the second half which is about his return, you get a picture of the rapture, and at the end him coming back with the saints in full power and glory, but he didn't specify a time table.

Does the holman have about the rapture. I’m kinda on the fence about the rapture. I beleive in the rapture but when does it happen. It could be before the tribulation or after
