Ask Bible Buying Guide: Keyword Study Bible vs Word Study Bible

In this Ask Bible Buying Guide I compare the NKJV Keyword Study Bible to the KJV Word Study Bible.

Sophie says:

I am going to buy a Key Word Study Bible, and I have several questions.
The NKJV version has far more pages (2,684) than the NASB and ESV versions (respectively 2,368 and 2,156). Why such a difference and which version would be better if there are any difference in the content, other than the translation?
And, what are the differences between the AMG Keyword Study Bible and the NKJV Key Word Study Bible published by Thomas Nelson? If I have to choose between these two, which one would you suggest? I have learned biblical greek but not (yet) hebrew.

You can see the individual reviews here:

I'm not sure if I missed it during the review of the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible, but it also has some grammatical helps for the New Testament (Koine) Greek words. These can become handy alongside of the AMG Annoted Strong's Dictionary (the dictionaries in the back). This Bible and an exhaustive concordance is a great combination. Unfortunately, exhaustive concordances are available only for select translations (e.g. KJV, NASB, NIV, and ESV).

Excellent comparison of these Bibles. I can get the Word Study Bible for less than $20.00 plus postage right now on Christian Book Distributors, so because of your video, I'm getting the NKJV Word Study Bible to use along with my KJV Thompson-Chain. I have a Strong's Concordance, so even though the AMG Keyword Study Bible is the better reference, I'm going with the Word Study Bible.

I am obviously not KJV-only, but I prefer the KJV to any other translation. I think using the KJV with the NKJV should work pretty well. I have so many KJV bibles that I thought it would be nice to get an NKJV study bible to use with my KJV Thompson-Chain. If you have a criticism of that strategy, please feel free to voice it. I would welcome the feedback.

Randy, are you familiar with the Standard Lesson Bible? Looks great. But seems to only come in KJV or NIV. I prefer NASB, NKJ or ESV. Thoughts?

I have a question I recently just got the Greek Hebrew key word study bible by amg csb hardcover edition and I absolutely love it. I just wanted to ask you since you seem very knowledgeable when it comes to Bibles. Which one would you consider the best bible out of these 4 Bible's in your opinion dake bible, fire bible, key word bible, or spirit filled life bible third edition. Please give me your opinion on that question that would be great. Also have you considered doing a review on the expositors study bible by Jimmy swaggart and if you have came accrossed it what did you think of it? Anyways take care be safe I love your videos and blessing be multiplied to you god bless bye 😊

Hey brother just curious I seen you did a review on the niv fire bible global study edition. I have a few questions in regards to it if you could so kindly answer them that would be great. Firstly does the niv fire bible global edition have more notes and information the the esv fire bible or kjv fire bible or mev fire bible cause by the looks of the niv fire bible global study edition it looks massive! Secondly how much does the fire bible global study edition weight if you have to take a guess that's fine. Lastly is the fire bible global study edition the best study Bible of all the other full life, life in the spirit or fire bible translations? And is the fire bible global study edition packed with more information than any other penecostal/charsmatic study Bible that you've seen? If you could so kindly elaborate on all of my questions to the best of your ability that would be fantastic. Looking forward to hearing from you. Take care stay safe and God bless bye 😊

Next edition of key word should leave out commantary. I like word studies not commantary on what one thinks it means.

AMG Bibles all have problems with a readable text. The Red letters in thes bibles are of a poor quality. Too light in too many places. Overall their genuine leather bibles are well-made and I love the Strongs concordance. But the print is a problem if you want a consistent readable text. If they corrected this these bibles would be ideal and they are good study bibles. Beside AMG is the only publisher who prints the NASB 1977. Spiros Zodiates used this translation in his own ministry.
